Louis Glazzard

Spring/Summer 2020

Originally commissioned for Pride in Trafford 2021 as part of the Screenlight micro-commission series, artist Louis Glazzard explores social media through a queer gaze.

'It's hard to make sense, feels as I'm sensing you through a lens' - MEW, Comforting Sounds.

This micro-commission inspects the relationship and attachments that are made online, as well as opening up to wider comments and questions about our use of modern technology and social media.

Louis Glazzard is an emerging queer poet based in Manchester. In 2015, he was included in the Forward Poetry anthology Love is in the Air and in 2018, he featured in Leeds Independent Life Magazine. Recently, his work has featured in the international queer arts project - Balaclava.Q.

Louis has written his debut collection of poetry, Boys Don’t Love Like Women, exploring sexuality, femininity, trauma and relationships, which he has been performing around Manchester.

Screenlight is supported by Creative Industries Trafford, Waterside Arts and Arts Council England.
